What is a tutoring session like? Educators at Nurturing Minds see themselves as mentors. Our main goal for every session is to create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming learning environment. Our educators understand the importance of expressing a positive, energetic, and personable attitude that supports students in developing skills in all academic areas. We welcome students to ask questions and encourage them to absorb learning material at a comfortable pace. During each session, our educators strive to incorporate learning opportunities that are hands-on and/or personable and relatable. These teaching and learning strategies also include the use of educational technology to enhance learning and support student engagement.
How will I know if my child is making progress? We will monitor your student's progress consistently during each lesson, and we will communicate the results with you. We will maintain open communication with parents to discuss whether the student's skill development from tutoring is transferring into the classroom and leading to higher scores on assignments and assessments. Parents and students may notice slower progress during the first few sessions, due to possible fundamental skill gaps. However, we understand that the most effective pathway to long-term success in learning is to focus on creating a solid foundation.
What is your cancellation policy? Nurturing Minds Tutoring requires that you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled session. Any appointments that are canceled after the required 24 hours will be subject to charges for the full session.
Do you accept charter school funding? We are vendors with Mission Vista Academy! We hope to become vendors with Julian Charter School in the 2024-2025 school year.
How can I pay for each session? We accept cash, Venmo, Zelle, and Apple Pay.
